Google AdSense
The Google AdSense program is one of the best and easiest ways to generate income from a website. This is advertising at its finest. Have you seen on websites a little section that says "Ads by Goooooogle?" That's what we're talking about.
How it Works
There are two sides to this program. AdSense (which is what we'll be talking mostly about) and AdWords. What AdWords is, is basically advertisers paying to have their sites advertised on the Google system. For an example of this, type something pretty popular into the Google search engine, like "Making Money".
Along with the regular search results, you will see one or two sections that say "Sponsored Links" or "Ads by Google", with some advertisements in them. Those websites are paying for those spots. To be more clear, they're not technically paying to be placed there, they're only paying a certain amount every time someone clicks on their ad.
On the flip side, with AdSense, website publishers can volunteer space on their site to place these "Sponsored Links" or "Ads by Gooooogle". The publisher then gets paid a certain amount every time someone clicks on an ad from their site. It really is that simple. This is how you can make money from your site.
You'll see Google Ads on this site, and all are related to the topic of this site. That's because Google scans each site that participates in the AdSense program, to decide what type of ads to place there. Getting the ads on your site is as easy as copying and pasting some HTML into your page code. Google does the rest.
Once you have Google Ads up and running on your site, you'll be paid a certain amount every time someone comes to your site and clicks on an ad. A small amount yes, but they do add up. So obviously you want tons of people coming to your site, because the law of averages says that the more people you get to your site, the more clicks you'll get!
Don't Cheat!
Google AdSense is a wonderful tool, and a great way to generate income. They are very strict however, and understandably so, with people who abuse the system. DO NOT click on your own ads, or encourage others to. They will close your account for good! Make sure you read their policies and terms and conditions very carefully.
